COBS Bread opens first bakery in Cranbrook
Canada’s largest bakery franchise, COBS Bread, opened March 28, 2019, on Cranbrook Street North in Cranbrook. This marks COBS Bread’s 113th bakery in Canada.

COBS Bread is well-known for its range of traditional and artisan breads as well as sweet and savoury treats, such as scones, croissants and Danishes. The bakery is owned and operated by locals Rod and Tamara Duggan, who have owned several successful small businesses.
“We tried the products on a trip to Vancouver and found ourselves bringing empty luggage on the next trip just so we could bring home COBS products!” said Rod Duggan.
In addition to baking fresh bread and treats all day, every day, owners of all COBS Bread bakeries are actively involved in their local communities through the End of Day Giving program, which is a cornerstone of the COBS Bread brand. All unsold product at the end of the day is donated to local charities based on a pick-up schedule coordinated between the charity or community group and the bakery.
COBS Bread is located at 1225 Cranbrook Street N and will be open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day. For more information, visit the local bakery page.
