The industry is anchored by the East Kootenay Regional Hospital (Interior Health), which offers core physician specialities, 24 emergency and trauma services, a Level 3 laboratory, and acute and obstetrical care. Interior Health also operates over 20 clinics and care centres throughout our zone.
The health care sector in our region is supported by societies like the East Kootenay Foundation for Health and an award-winning educational facility. College of the Rockies, based in Cranbrook, offers a range of industry certifications, University transfer programs and specialized online training. A majority of our population has post-secondary education, with accreditation in nursing, dental, kinesiology and other health services.
As one of the hottest new spots for the millennial generation, the Cranbrook-Kimberley Development Zone is comprised of active, health-conscious people. Adding to the demand for new clinics and care facilities is a rising population of senior citizens and retirees.
